Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Safety Manager to join our team at Parsons Corporation. As a key member of our safety and health team, you will be responsible for providing oversight and support to ensure the safety, health, and environmental well-being of our employees and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent Parsons on project or program worksites and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Advise and assist project or program managers and personnel in implementing safety and health protocols and procedures.
  • Oversee the health and safety program for employees and contractors working at the site.
  • Audit project or program sites against corporate standards and create written reports.
  • Inspect worksites to detect hazards and provide expertise to eliminate or control risks.
  • Implement occupational injury and incident reporting and management processes.
  • Conduct thorough incident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Perform trends analyses on audit findings, inspection findings, and incident reports.
  • Represent Parsons during external regulatory or loss control inspections.
  • Seek active participation from project or program managers, craft workers, and other personnel to identify safety and health improvements.
  • Assist with new hire orientation and perform regulatory and best practice safety and health training.
  • Conduct risk assessments for upcoming work and provide safety and health subject matter expertise.
  • Interface with coworkers, clients, contractors, and third parties in a professional manner.
  • Participate in routine safe work briefings.
  • Manage security subcontractors to ensure protection of the public, employees, environment, and mine site infrastructure and facilities.
  • Coordinate emergency medical services, inventory control of basic PPE, and medical monitoring sample collection.
  • Ensure compliance with the Northwest Territories Mine Health and Safety Act, permits, and licenses.

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in occupational safety and health or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years or more of related work experience in the field of occupational safety and health.
  • Certification as a Canadian Certified Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist.
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian safety and health regulations, acts, and reporting requirements.
  • High-level knowledge of federal and territorial SH&E regulations and reporting procedures.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
