Job Title: Director of Care and Operations

Job Summary:

The Director of Care and Operations will be responsible for ensuring the provision of optimum care to promote the well-being of each individual resident. This includes ensuring the delivery of nursing services to meet the assessed needs of the residents, managing and coordinating Home-wide programs, and assessing, implementing, evaluating, reporting, and documenting actions to affect positive outcomes related to the residents' health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the provision of optimum care to promote the well-being of each individual resident.
  • Ensure the delivery of nursing services to meet the assessed needs of the residents.
  • Manage and coordinate Home-wide programs, including skin care, behavior management, infection control, back care, CQI/Risk Management, palliative care, quality of life, and health and safety.
  • Assess, implement, evaluate, report, and document actions to affect positive outcomes related to the residents' health.
  • Ensure nursing staff perform assigned tasks and duties.
  • Responsible and accountable for the coordination, implementation, and overall management of Home-wide programs.
  • Ensure the accurate completion of resident records reflecting the resident's health status and care provided, complying with legislative and Home requirements.
  • Participate in the orientation process for residents, students, volunteers, and nursing personnel.

Requirements:

  • Must be registered with a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario - O. Reg. 246/22, s. 51.
  • Successful completion of or enrollment in Long Term Care Senior Management or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in Long Term Care (Gerontology) preferred.
  • Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education.
  • Must be computer literate.
