We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Consultant to join our team, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide expert support for patients struggling with mental health concerns.
About the Role
This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. As a Mental Health Consultant, you will work closely with family physicians to assess, treat, and manage patient mental health and wellbeing. Your expertise will be invaluable in developing positive working relationships with other healthcare team members and promoting coordinated, quality care.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Utilizing evidence-based practice to assess, care plan, intervene, and evaluate patient mental health and wellbeing;
• Providing short-term consultation for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, stress and trauma-related disorders, sleep-wake disorders, substance use & concurrent disorders, and personality disorders;
• Developing strong partnerships with other healthcare team members and clinical support teams to ensure seamless delivery of care;
Key Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
• Good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta;
• Prior experience working with vulnerable populations an asset;
• Compassion for clients facing challenging socioeconomic and life situations;
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment;

Compensation
