Your Opportunity:

This is a unique position within the Edmonton zone that offers a wide range of experience and opportunities to positively impact the lives of those living with or caring for individuals with addiction and/or mental health concerns. Access 24/7 is a growing program that provides a wide range of addiction and mental health services such as system navigation, screening, assessment, intake, referral, consultation, crisis intervention, and community outreach. Interventions with our clientele and/or their families can occur in the clinic, the community, or in a client's home, dependent on the identified needs.

Description:

As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team collaborating on the delivery of care for the needs of individuals, families and/or communities. You will be responsible for the intake, clinical interviews, and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders. You will liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required. You may have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development and to provide supervision to practicum students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities with persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties.
  • Work both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team to provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, and treatment.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of care.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of one of the following programs: a Master's degree in Psychology, a Bachelor's degree in Social Work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention, a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy with similar educational components, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling, or a Bachelor's degree in Psychiatric Nursing. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Preferred Qualifications:

If registered with ACSW, preference to those candidates with authorization to perform restricted psychosocial interventions.
