CASA Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Triage and Transition team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with families beginning their journey at CASA and those transitioning out of our programs into the community.
The Triage and Transition team eliminates gaps in services, offering a streamlined intake experience and a warm hand-off to community partners. This role is responsible for conducting comprehensive bio-psycho-social mental health assessments for children and adolescents, providing nursing assessments and plans of care, and liaising with other professionals to promote continuity of care.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years' recent experience in pediatrics and mental health, strong clinical assessment and evaluation skills, and excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. They will also be familiar with electronic medical records or similar information systems and have a valid Class 5 operator's license and access to transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive bio-psycho-social mental health assessments for children and adolescents
- Provide nursing assessments and plans of care, including medication administration/monitoring, teaching, telephone follow-up, and health promotion
- Liaise with other professionals to promote continuity of care
- Identify service delivery improvements and suggest enhancements, utilizing a lens of evidence-informed practice and with consideration to CASA's strategic and operational plan
- Maintain patient electronic health records in a complete and timely way
- Work collaboratively with the research department to assist with critical appraisal, evaluation, and knowledge transfer
- Contribute to program and clinical team meetings
Qualifications:
- Member in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta
- Minimum three years' recent experience in pediatrics and mental health
- Strong clinical assessment and evaluation skills
- Relevant and practical experience in a child and adolescent mental health treatment setting
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Familiarity with electronic medical records or similar information systems
- Valid Class 5 operator's license and access to transportation
Conditions of Employment:

- A satisfactory Child Intervention Check
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground
- Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA), as well as physical ability to perform all interventions
