Mental Health Therapist

As a Mental Health Clinician with Alberta Health Services, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, client-focused care to individuals with addiction and mental health concerns. This exciting opportunity is part of our Access 24/7 program, which offers a wide range of services, including system navigation, screening, assessment, intake, referral, consultation, crisis intervention, and community outreach.
Key Responsibilities- Perform psychosocial interventions utilizing various treatment modalities with individuals experiencing significant mental health difficulties.
- Work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to deliver care for the needs of individuals, families, and communities.
- Conduct intake, clinical interviews, and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required.
- Participate in program planning, development, and provide supervision to practicum students.
- Completion of a Master's degree in Psychology, a Bachelor's degree in Social Work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention, a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy with similar educational components, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling, or a Bachelor's degree in Psychiatric Nursing.
- Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant addiction and mental health experience providing crisis intervention, preferably in a community setting.
- Formal clinical training in triage, intervention, and stabilization, preferably in a community setting.
