Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Educator to join our team at Halton Healthcare. As a Clinical Educator, you will play a key role in providing clinical education and staff development to our staff, with a focus on clinical education for staff and patients in the Operating Room, PACU, endoscopy, and ambulatory procedure patient populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Teaching and Staff Development: Provide clinical teaching and staff development focusing on clinical education for staff, with a focus on adult learning and change management strategies.
  • Continuous Learning and Professional Development: Facilitate and expedite continuous learning and professional development through educating, coaching, and mentoring staff.
  • Consultation and Expertise: Provide consultation to various team members on standards and best practices, with a focus on clinical expertise in caring for patients in surgical services.
  • Policies and Procedures: Develop, review, and revise policies and procedures related to professional practice and clinical care, and provide supporting education and evaluation.
  • Quality Improvement: Develop and monitor quality indicators within the Programs and actively participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: As a member of the Office of Professional Practice, collaborate with other Clinical Educators to plan and provide the Nursing Orientation Program, and participate in organization-wide management activities.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative back-up to Patient Care Managers within the Program in their absence.
Requirements
  • Education: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required, Master Degree in Nursing, Education or Health Administration preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated clinical experience in Operating Room/PACU required, experience as an educator including the ability to design and deliver programs required.
  • Certifications: Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required, ACLS certification required, ACLS instructor designation an asset.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and team leadership skills, ability to prioritize/organize multiple projects with strict deadlines, ability to work autonomously, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
