Halton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team in a Clinical Nutrition role. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition care to patients across diverse demographics.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive nutrition care plans, utilizing expertise in nutrition screening and assessment to meet the specific needs of patients.
- Conduct regular assessments to evaluate the efficacy of nutrition care plans and make recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to modify and implement guidelines, protocols, and professional care standards in response to evolving patient requirements.
- Analyze emerging trends and advancements in dietary methodologies, exploring their suitability for integration into the clinical nutrition regimen.
- Design and deliver training sessions and in-service educational initiatives to educate healthcare professionals on best practices in clinical nutrition.
- Baccalaureate degree in Nutrition program with completion of an accredited dietetic internship program.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
- Member of Dietitians of Canada (an asset).
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a Special Care Nursery and Pediatrics and medicine within the adult population.
- Experience with neonatal parenteral nutrition support and Pasteurized Donor Milk Program.
- Experience with Enteral and Parenteral nutrition support required.
- Broad-based understanding of clinical nutrition needs across diverse patient populations.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Possesses outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to changes in patient care and the evolving healthcare landscape.
- Possess strong negotiation skills and the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of patients and the profession itself.
- Capability to effectively use information technology to enhance and support their practices (Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel, Meditech Expanse, Computrition).
- The capacity to work cohesively as part of a collaborative team.
