We're seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Claims Assistant II to join our team. As a key member of our insurance defence litigation team, you will provide administrative support to our lawyers, ensuring the smooth operation of our practice.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, photocopying, drafting correspondence, and preparing pleadings.
- Implement an effective diary system to manage the lawyer's practice and ensure timely deadlines are met.
- Partner with assigned lawyers to manage workflow, schedule appearances, and monitor calendars.
- Support clients in scheduling appointments, exchanging information, and communicating case progress.
- Review and manage documents using software programs, ensuring electronic filing is up to date.
- Provide support to assistants, clerks, lawyers, and management, demonstrating a disciplined approach to work.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing education and training.
- College diploma from a legal office administration or law clerk program, or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in insurance defence litigation.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and proficiency in dictation with high accuracy.
- Strong document management skills and ability to learn and utilize Intact's software programs.
- Excellent attention to detail, proofreading skills, and ability to prioritize and organize work.
- Excellent communication, listening, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a team or independently, exercising sound judgment and taking initiative.
