Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to contribute to increasing revenue growth through sales in the industry of sustainable solutions. This role involves identifying sales opportunities, nurturing and growing new and existing customer relationships, and understanding what it takes to be successful within a long, complex sales cycle with multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Implement the sales strategy to achieve revenue goals reporting to the General Manager.
- Identify sales opportunities, nurture, and grow new and existing customer relationships.
- Understand the competitive landscape, know top competitors, and market trends, making strategy decisions based on data.
- Accountable for ensuring the sales pipeline is accurate and predictable when forecasting net new revenue.
- Work well with technical sales teams, develop instant rapport, move past gatekeepers, and get to decision-makers.
- Differentiate SYLVIS from the competition by continuously validating and improving the sales strategy by analyzing and interpreting reasons behind lost and won contracts.
- 7+ years hands-on experience proactively growing sales, building relationships with municipalities, other levels of government, industry, and end-users.
- A passionate sales leader who is a team player with experience finding new opportunities, building key relationships, and strategically growing sales pipelines.
- A natural collaborator who is out-going, demonstrates energy and a sense of urgency when fulfilling day-to-day responsibilities with sales, marketing, and product development.
- Professional approach with knowledge of fertilizers and soil amendments, able to establish a value proposition for the landowner by contrasting the use of chemical fertilizers.
- Able to speak with farmers and other corporate landowners in their 'language' and convey excitement about the company brand and overall vision.
- Thrives within a dynamic entrepreneurial environment, wears multiple hats, has exceptional communication and organizational skills, develops an effective sales strategy, generates revenue through sales.
- Experience utilizing CRM systems and advanced Excel skills, able to travel in Canada and the USA.
The estimated annual salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $120,000 CAD, depending on experience and qualifications.
