Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clerical Support Specialist to join our team at the Provincial Health Services Authority. As a key member of our Regional Programs team, you will provide administrative support to our multi-disciplinary team, ensuring the smooth operation of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical support services, including transcribing medical dictation, operating a multi-line switchboard, and maintaining data using spreadsheet and database software.
  • Assist with reception services, including responding to inquiries, taking/relaying messages, and redirecting callers to appropriate personnel.
  • Process referrals and enter client data into computer systems, databases, and other software programs.
  • Maintain client charts, schedules, and records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform a variety of clerical functions, including operating a facsimile and/or photocopier, and distributing information as requested.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to on-going team planning, development, evaluation, and quality improvement activities.
Requirements
  • Grade 12, graduation from an approved program in medical transcription, and one (1) year of recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to keyboard at 60 wpm.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
