Pediatric Clinic Nurse Coordinator

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Clinic team at Southlake Regional Health Centre. As a Pediatric Clinic Nurse Coordinator, you will play a key role in coordinating the operations of the outpatient clinic, working collaboratively with pediatricians and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the flow of patients through the outpatient clinic by triaging all referrals made to the clinic.
- Provide leadership and knowledge entrenched in evidence-based practice for pediatric patients and their care.
- Work collaboratively and in conjunction with the Pediatric inpatient unit, NICU, POGO, BU, and PPU.
- Monitor and evaluate quality and satisfaction of the program through customer, staff, and physician feedback.
- Provide leadership and effectively manage complex clinical decisions.
Qualifications
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse.
- Recent experience working in a pediatric outpatient clinic preferred.
- Recent experience working with Pediatrics (within the last 5 years) required.
- Experience and strong knowledge of Childhood asthma, Haematology, Complex Care, RSV, and ROP.
- Immunization knowledge and experience preferred.
- Experience with initiation of IV's and blood draws for children preferred.
- Certified Pediatric Asthma Educator preferred.
- NRP and PALS required or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
- Education in breastfeeding preferred.
- Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public relations skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative practice model with multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative and work autonomously utilizing critical thinking skills, and advanced decision-making, problem recognition, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with program development, quality improvement initiatives, and program evaluation.
- Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, and demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven success in providing leadership and effectively managing complex clinical decisions.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning, professional development, and continuous quality improvement.
- Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem assessment skills.

- Good working knowledge of Electronic Documentation.
