We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Pediatric Outpatient Clinic Coordinator at Southlake Regional Health Centre. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the operations of the outpatient clinic, working collaboratively with paediatricians and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the flow of patients through the outpatient clinic by triaging all referrals made to the clinic.
- Provide leadership and knowledge entrenched in evidence-based practice for the paediatric patients and their care.
- Work collaboratively and in conjunction with the Paediatric inpatient unit, NICU, POGO, BU and PPU.
- Monitor and evaluate quality and satisfaction of the program through customer, staff and physician feedback.
- Provide leadership and effectively manage complex clinical decisions.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse.
- Recent experience working in a paediatric outpatient clinic preferred.
- Recent experience working with Paediatrics (within the last 5 years) required.
- Experience and strong knowledge of Childhood asthma, Haematology, Complex Care, RSV and ROP.
- Immunization knowledge and experience preferred.
- Experience with initiation of IV's and blood draws for children preferred.
- Certified Paediatric Asthma Educator preferred.
- NRP and PALS required or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
- Education in breast feeding preferred.
- Experience in program development, implementation and evaluation.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and public relations skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative practice model with multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative and work autonomously utilizing critical thinking skills, and advanced decision-making, problem recognition and problem solving skills.
- Experience with program development, quality improvement initiatives, and program evaluation.
- Effective organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven success in providing leadership and effectively managing complex clinical decisions.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning, professional development, and continuous quality improvement.
- Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem assessment skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient and family centred care and teamwork.
- Demonstrated individual leadership skills.
- Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
- Good working knowledge of Electronic Documentation.
- Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for patients and families as well as other members of the healthcare team within a challenging and exciting health care environment.
