Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our 12-bed Regional Pediatric unit, a modern facility committed to delivering exceptional family-centered care to our young patients. This unit specializes in various pediatric conditions, including Eating Disorders and Pediatric Oncology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Engage with families to support their needs and enhance their experience.

Qualifications

  • Current R.N. Certificate of Registration from the Ontario College of Nurses is mandatory.
  • Recent experience in pediatric nursing (within the last 5 years) is essential.
  • PALS certification is required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
  • Knowledge and experience with Juvenile Diabetes, Childhood Asthma, Eating Disorders, and Depression within the last 5 years are necessary.
  • Preferred qualifications include Pediatric and Neonatal Resuscitation Course, IV initiation experience for children, and Pediatric Assessment Course.
  • Experience with pediatric oncology patients is advantageous.
  • Education in breastfeeding support is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and commitment to customer service and teamwork are required.
  • Individual leadership skills are highly valued.
