Executive Director and Curator

The Canadian Automotive Museum is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director and Curator to lead its team and drive the museum's mission forward.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the museum's team, ensuring the successful implementation of its strategic plan and achieving its goals.
- Collections Management: Oversee the acquisition, conservation, and exhibition of the museum's collections, ensuring their preservation and interpretation for the public.
- Exhibition Development: Plan, design, and implement engaging and informative exhibitions that showcase the museum's collections and tell the story of Canada's automotive heritage.
- Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with the community, promoting the museum's programs and services, and engaging with diverse audiences.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage the museum's budget, ensuring financial sustainability and responsible stewardship of its resources.
- Human Resources: Lead and manage the museum's staff, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment, and ensuring the effective delivery of its programs and services.
- Education and Experience: A post-secondary degree in a relevant field, such as museum studies, art history, or a related field, and significant experience in museum management, collections management, or a related field.
- Leadership and Management: Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in strategic planning, team management, and budgeting.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of museum practices, collections management, and exhibition development, as well as excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
The Canadian Automotive Museum offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $80,000, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package.
