Job Overview

This role is part of Island Health, working with vulnerable children and families.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is approximately $45,000 to $60,000 per year, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

This Administrative Support Clerk will provide administrative support to the team, preparing, maintaining, and controlling various office records, documents, confidential correspondence files, and related data with a high degree of accuracy and proficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Medical Office Assistant Certificate or equivalent education
  • Three (3) years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, such as the Child, Family & Community Service Act

You should also possess skills including:

  • Type at 55 wpm
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • General office practices and procedures
  • Utilize word processing, spreadsheets, database applications, and e-mail
  • Foster and maintain excellent customer/client relations
  • Ability to work with vulnerable children and families
  • Act with tact, confidentiality, and discretion
  • Organize workload and deal with many tasks simultaneously
  • Operate standard office equipment
