About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager to join our team in Ottawa, Canada. As a key member of our business development team, you will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities within the Department of Defense and Shared Services Canada market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to drive growth and revenue
  • Identify and qualify potential new business opportunities, including large and small-scale projects
  • Maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to stay informed about market trends and competitive offerings
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and other bids
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Naval In-Service Support and the Canadian Defence and Security industry
  • Solid understanding of new business identification, qualification, capture, bid, and proposal processes
  • Experience with Capture Plan preparation and execution of opportunity gate reviews
  • Familiarity with the Defence Procurement Strategy and Teaming Agreement development and negotiations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or greater in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related technical field
  • Documented 'win list' with multiple large awards in the Defence or other government markets within the last five years
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include dental care, extended health care, RRSP match, vision care, and a comprehensive CRM system to track leads and customer interactions.
