As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in driving our financial operations forward. This involves overseeing all aspects of accounting, payroll, invoicing, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the board.

This role requires flexibility, with a hybrid work arrangement that involves working from our Kitchener-Waterloo office 2-3 days per week. While our current office location is at Catalyst Commons (137 Glasgow Street), we may adapt to changing circumstances as our company grows.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accounting Oversight: Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliation.
  • Payroll Administration: Process payroll, including salary calculations, tax withholdings, benefits administration, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Invoicing and Billing: Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and billing processes.
  • Compliance and Audit: Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and internal controls, and coordinate external audits as needed.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and develop team members who require assistance with finance-related matters affecting their roles within the organization.
  • Financial Acumen: Demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards.
  • Analytical Skills: Analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to inform business decisions.
Requirements:
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably in the technology sector.
  • Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with payroll processing systems and familiarity with HR processes and regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

Salary Estimate: $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
