We are seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to join our team at YW Kitchener-Waterloo. In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping the organization's financial direction and ensuring long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fiscal Leadership: Oversee all fiscal activities, manage the finance, budget, and decision support functions, and guide the rest of the organization on financial matters.
  • Strategic Planning: Direct financial planning, forecasting, and supervise monthly finance activities through the Manager, Financial Planning & Accounting.
  • Financial Goals: Guide the ongoing development and refinement of financial goals, objectives, and strategies aligned with the organization's vision and strategic objectives.
  • Advisory Role: Advise senior leadership on strategic and operational financial challenges and support the identification, monitoring, minimization, and resolution of financial risks.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all reporting requirements and oversee financial reporting to the Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
Requirements:
  • Senior Leadership Experience: Proven track record in senior leadership roles with experience in not-for-profit environments.
  • GAAP Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of GAAP for non-profit organizations and CICA knowledge.
  • Designations: CPA designation is mandatory, along with Vulnerable Sector Check documentation and Vaccine Verification.
Benefits:

As a permanent full-time position, you can expect a competitive salary of $108,000 and the opportunity to work from our home office at 153 Frederick Street or remotely/hybrid depending on team needs.
