Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Lifeguard (Full Time) at YMCA Calgary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe aquatic environment by adhering to National Lifeguard standards and YMCA Policies and Procedures.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service and be knowledgeable of YMCA programs and services.
  • Complete administrative tasks, update class rosters, lesson plans, check equipment, clean equipment, and perform light maintenance tasks when not guarding or instructing.
  • Perform all scheduled water tests and keep the pool area clean and organized.
  • Respond to emergencies according to National Lifeguard standards and YMCA Policies and Procedures.
  • Work as a team, communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and members in all situations.
  • Attend all scheduled in-services and attend all necessary YMCA training.
Requirements
  • National Lifeguard - Pool certification.
  • Standard First Aid (recertified within the last 36 months).
  • CPR C certification (recertified within the last 12 months).
  • Lifesaving Instructor would be considered an asset.
  • Evidence of a clear Police Information Check including a Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Three professional references.
