IT Support Specialist for Healthcare Environment

Our organization is committed to delivering diagnostic care and imaging that helps detect diseases early, supports patient management, and effectively monitors treatment. We have a strong partnership with Sunnybrook Hospital as the Rapid Cardiology Clinic and Heart Failure outpatient center.
Our areas of expertise include Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiology Consults and Diagnostics, MRI, PET, and specialist services.

This role requires an IT Helpdesk professional with experience in Healthcare to provide technical support to our users, ensuring their systems and applications function effectively.
The ideal candidate will respond to issues and enquiries via email, remote, and on-site support to KMH staff/users as required on various desktop hardware, software, telecom, and network issues.
The key accountabilities of this role include:
- Responding to technical problems and providing timely solutions efficiently
- Analyzing and diagnosing problems while developing and implementing solutions within narrow timelines
- Enabling support for system access, including creating and managing user accounts
- Providing initial contact for technical problems, investigating, and diagnosing issues, recording incidents (ticket system), restoring service if possible, and assigning incidents to next level support teams as required
- Answering technical questions regarding personal computer hardware and its accessories and software deployed within the company
- SUPPORTING THE COMPANY CORE BUSINESS APPLICATIONS OR CLOUD-BASED PLATFORMS FOR INSTALLATION AND CONFIGURATION
- SETUP OF NEW COMPUTERS AND PROVIDES USERS' PRODUCTION SUPPORT
- Maintaining awareness of current initiatives, rollouts, and changes to the technical environment
- Periodically inspecting all locations and assuring the IT-related equipment cleanliness, cabling tidiness, and collecting potential feedback from users for continuous improvement experiences
- Optimizing use of hardware and software by training users, providing explanations (reasoning), and following up accordingly
- Maintaining privacy and confidentiality of all health-related information
- Ensuring timely resolution and communication of status with user and management
This position requires:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a diverse technology and customer service-focused role
- Post-secondary education in a related IT area or business/technical training/experience equivalent
- Solid knowledge and demonstrated experience using desktop products and operating systems (only Windows environment)
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routers, switches, WiFi access points) as well as basic-level network connectivity issues and troubleshooting
- Experience supporting back-office applications and industry-standard business software applications, including MS Office and Outlook
- Strong understanding of hosted applications and resources and industry best practices regarding information security
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good initiative with solid problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
Based on our analysis, we estimate this role's salary to be around $55,000 per year. This amount may vary based on factors like location, experience, and qualifications.
