Job Description

Bayshore HealthCare, a leading provider of home and community health care services in Canada, is seeking a skilled Healthcare Compliance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with privacy legislations, regulatory standards, and contractual agreements across our organization.

The Healthcare Compliance Specialist will be responsible for communicating and ensuring that all levels of the organization are in compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in healthcare structures. This includes:

  • Compliance with Applicable Laws and Regulations: Ensuring adherence to applicable privacy legislations, including federal and provincial laws, as well as contractual agreements.
  • Data Protection and Confidentiality: Maintaining confidentiality and nondisclosure compliance, including handling sensitive information and ensuring its security.
  • Privacy Impact Assessment: Conducting thorough assessments to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Incident Management and Response: Investigating and managing privacy incidents, including data breaches and unauthorized disclosures.

In addition to these responsibilities, the Healthcare Compliance Specialist will also:

  • Develop and Implement Compliance Programs: Creating and implementing policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Working closely with risk management, legal, and other departments to ensure alignment and effective implementation of compliance initiatives.
  • Provide Education and Training: Developing and delivering training sessions to educate staff on privacy best practices and regulatory requirements.
