Job Summary:

This leadership role is responsible for ensuring that resident care exceeds standards and expectations. As a key member of the leadership team, you will support the home's Infection Prevention and Control program, as well as all aspects of resident admissions, including liaising with residents and family members pending admission, and throughout the admission process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the RAI MDS processes in accordance with MOHLTC regulations, monitoring and supporting all staff to ensure accuracy of data and taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Provide leadership to the staff teams, ensuring the implementation of best practice approaches to resident care.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and adult education programs.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement strategies to improve resident care and satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Registered Practical Nurse and registered in good standing with the College of Nurses Ontario.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in the Long-Term Care or Acute Care sector.
  • Experience in quality improvement and adult education is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of epidemiological principles, statistics, and microbiology and the ability to integrate this knowledge into clinical practice would be a significant asset.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to educate and support employees.
  • Flexibility to work or support all three shifts is required, as well as participating in the home's on-call leader rotation.
  • Member of National Infection Control Association (IPAC Canada) is beneficial, and current CPR and First Aid is required.
