The Residential Services Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and safety of students within the residence facilities. This position is responsible for managing the daily functions of student programs within the assigned residence, collaborating with various departments to guarantee comprehensive support for students and addressing any facility-related concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Residence Director and other supervisory staff to enhance residence management and programming.
  • Develop, revise, and implement policies and procedures governing residential life.
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders as necessary.
  • Coordinate with various departments regarding issues pertinent to residence programs.
  • Participate in school-wide committee meetings as required.
  • Prepare timely reports and maintain up-to-date residence documentation.
  • Assist with housing operations, including check-ins and orientations.
  • Support Residence Life Managers with staff scheduling as needed.
  • Facilitate professional development for residence staff.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions.

Staff Oversight:

  • Monitor staff morale and address workplace challenges proactively.
  • Establish clear expectations for staff performance, oversee training, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Supervise and mentor residence staff, fostering professional growth opportunities.
  • Work with the Residence Director to address disciplinary matters.
  • Ensure uniformity in program delivery and policy enforcement across residences.
  • Remain adaptable to address recurring issues within the residence environment.
  • Assist with annual performance evaluations in line with established appraisal processes.
  • Promote a collaborative team atmosphere within the residences.

Student Conduct Management:

  • Monitor and appropriately address student behavioral concerns.
  • Collaborate with Campus Security to investigate incidents and document findings.
  • Review incident reports submitted by staff and communicate outcomes to the Residence Director.
  • Utilize available support networks effectively for student assistance.

Residence Programming:

  • Establish a system to recognize and address student participation and conduct in residence life.
  • Conduct regular inspections to uphold standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Oversee academic support and study periods for residents.
  • Provide guidance on disciplinary matters through established protocols.
  • Document and address social, emotional, academic, and health concerns through appropriate channels.
  • Facilitate community-building initiatives and uphold residential standards.
  • Engage with stakeholders to enhance student welfare.
  • Accompany students on outings as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience working with youth in diverse environments is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and assessment capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in people management and decision-making.
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Competent in computer applications, including databases and office software.

Work Requirements:

  • Availability for flexible work hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Willingness to work across various residences to ensure comprehensive student care.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Capability to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Frequent use of stairs is required.
