Schlegel Villages is seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join their team in a Retirement village setting. As a key member of the village team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality personal care to residents, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to understand individual needs, and advocating for residents to participate in decisions about their care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe administration of medication and treatments with a focus on accuracy, quality, and meeting residents' quality of life requests.
  • Follow plans of care (or service plans) in accordance with the standards of the College of Nurses and identify and report any changes in the resident's well-being to the Charge Nurse and Village leadership team.
  • Lead the Medication-Certified PSWs and neighbourhood teams to ensure seamless delivery of care.
  • Oversee the medical needs of residents in the Retirement Village.
  • Collaborate with the village team to understand residents' individual needs and advocate for residents to participate in decisions about their care.

Requirements:

  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Heart Save Level of CPR.
  • Excitement about Schlegel Villages' objectives, village philosophy, and family values.
  • Caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members.
  • Understanding of the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the RPN role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MDS credentials.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, regulations, and best practices applicable to the retirement and long-term care sector.
