Job Title: Hotel Front Desk Clerk

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Hotel Front Desk Clerk to join our team at 3051939 Nova Scotia Ltd. o/a HI Port Hawkesbury. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in and check-out process, and maintaining a clean and organized front desk area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Register arriving guests and assign rooms
  • Process group arrivals and departures
  • Take, cancel and change room reservations
  • Provide information on hotel facilities and services
  • Provide general information about points of interest in the area
  • Exchange foreign currency
  • Process guests' departures, calculate charges and receive payments
  • Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments
  • Follow emergency and safety procedures
  • Clerical duties (i.e. faxing, filing, photocopying)
  • Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages
  • Assist clients/guests with special needs
  • Contact customers to deliver requested wakeup calls
  • Provide customer service
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in the hospitality industry
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and provide excellent customer service
