We are seeking a skilled and experienced Japanese Chef to join our team at Hoshi Japanese Cuisine. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality Japanese dishes for our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Menu Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
- Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, taking into account their dietary requirements and preferences.
- Kitchen Management: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure that they are clean and well-maintained, and that all equipment is in good working order.
- Staff Training: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring that we have the necessary resources to meet customer demand.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean kitchen and work areas, ensuring that they are clean and well-maintained at all times.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a Japanese restaurant or kitchen.
- Language: Fluency in English is required, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff.
- Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and physical stamina to stand for extended periods.
