About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen operations and ensuring that our guests receive exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution
    • Develop and implement menus that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation
    • Source and procure high-quality ingredients and supplies
  • Kitchen Operations Management
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks, chefs, and other support personnel
    • Ensure that kitchen operations are efficient, safe, and compliant with health and safety regulations
  • Food Cost Control and Inventory Management
    • Monitor and control food costs, including inventory management and waste reduction
    • Develop and implement strategies to reduce food costs and improve profitability
  • Staff Training and Development
    • Provide training and coaching to kitchen staff to improve their skills and knowledge
    • Develop and implement training programs to ensure that staff are equipped to meet the highest standards of quality and service
  • Quality Assurance and Quality Control
    • Ensure that all food products meet the highest standards of quality and presentation
    • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that kitchen operations are meeting the highest standards
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a senior culinary role
    • Post-secondary education in culinary arts or a related field
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Proven track record of success in kitchen operations management
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
    • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
    • Ability to train and develop staff
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with frequent exposure to heat, noise, and other physical demands. The ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and stand for extended periods is required.
