Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Chef to join our team at NAMASTE KINGSTON. As a leader in the kitchen, you will be responsible for overseeing the culinary operations, managing a team of chefs, and ensuring that our high standards of quality and service are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Culinary Leadership
    • Develop and implement menus that showcase our culinary expertise and meet the expectations of our customers.
    • Lead a team of chefs in the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensuring that they meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
    • Collaborate with our culinary team to create new recipes and menu items that are innovative and exciting.
  • Operational Management
    • Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
    • Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control to minimize waste and optimize profitability.
    • Develop and implement systems to improve kitchen efficiency and productivity.
  • Team Management
    • Recruit, train, and develop a team of skilled chefs who are passionate about delivering exceptional culinary experiences.
    • Provide coaching and guidance to help team members improve their skills and performance.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages collaboration and open communication.
  • Quality and Safety
    • Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality and safety.
    • Implement and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene practices.
    • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that our food meets our high standards.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • 5+ years of experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar leadership role.
    • Proven track record of success in managing a team of chefs and driving culinary innovation.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
    • Excellent culinary skills, with a deep understanding of flavor profiles, cooking techniques, and menu engineering.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
