Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Department Manager/Structural Division Manager, the Intermediate or Senior Structural Engineer will provide expertise for civil infrastructure projects such as buildings, ports, harbours, and bridges. Your responsibilities will include project management of ongoing initiatives including scheduling and budgeting. Within a multi-disciplinary team environment, you will be responsible for developing cost-effective engineering designs and construction solutions for the organization's clients. Your expertise will be pivotal in steering these projects from conception to fruition, maintaining meticulous attention to detail throughout.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure the seamless design, meticulous documentation, and successful execution of engineering projects.
  2. Ability to make informed, independent decisions and implement effective work methodologies and procedures.
  3. Prepare proposals and reports.
  4. Manage Structural Engineering projects including financial controls, project management, managing client relationships.
  5. Interpret complex data and derive conclusive insights, informing strategic project directions and optimizations.
  6. Craft innovative, pragmatic, and cost-effective solutions to intricate engineering challenges.
  7. Assume a pivotal role in ensuring the technical integrity and quality of engineering designs.
  8. Oversee and guide a team of technicians involved in the preparation of intricate working drawings.
  9. Maintain a client-focused approach, prioritizing customer service excellence.

Requirements:

  1. 5+ years' Structural Engineer Experience or equivalent; Marine Engineering experience is an asset.
  2. On path to registration or currently registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
  3. Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  4. Proven project management and technical skills.
  5. Experience with design software such as SAFI, Structure Point, WoodWorks, Microsoft is an asset.
  6. Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
