Facilities Coordinator

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Coordinator to join our team at FortisBC. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer the operation of our security systems, including responding to security concerns and communicating with staff and management.
- Ensure facility services such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning are maintained to applicable standards.
- Coordinate and administer the service contract for facility services, including meeting with service providers and performing periodic audits.
- Work with business units as a project manager to ensure successful implementation of modifications, renovations, and moves.
- Meet with tenants to discuss their requirements and ensure that they are met in accordance with company standards.
- Maintain documentation related to facilities, including building system, office equipment, and workspace inventories.
- Ensure effective utilization of building and office systems through client orientation, communication, training, and support documentation.
- Coordinate and summarize budget, including preparing targets, budget comparison, and analysis for cost control.
- Administer the Corporate Records Management System, including developing and maintaining a Corporate Records Management Directory Manual.
- Attend vendor courses and maintain open communication to ensure a current knowledge of building and office systems.
- Perform duties of a minor nature related to the above duties, including driving a vehicle.
Requirements
- Successful completion of a Certificate in Facilities Management, Operations Management, Business, or a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Four years of directly related relevant experience, of which one year experience involves managing facility projects.
- Working knowledge of computer systems operations, environment, and peripherals, and various applications software in use in the department.
- Oral, interpersonal, negotiating, and conflict resolution skills, including the ability to respond to difficult or demanding situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Analytical, organizational, and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret building construction drawings.
- Sound knowledge of office systems planning and layout.
- Intermediate level keyboarding skills, including the ability to format correspondence, reports, and charts.
- Valid British Columbia driver's license.
