About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Coordinator to join our team at Interior Health Authority.



Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development and supervision of day-to-day activities in assigned service delivery areas.
  • Coordinate major and minor construction projects through effective project management and maintenance scheduling techniques.
  • Ensure the smooth functioning and code compliance of designated facilities, including hospital equipment and systems.
  • Liaise with colleagues in the industry to share information and establish/review benchmarks to review productivity.
  • Provide professional expertise to other healthcare organizations and negotiate with contractors, regulatory bodies, manufacturers, and/or suppliers.

Requirements
  • Ensures the effective maintenance and operation of buildings, building systems, grounds, equipment, and hardware.
  • Leads, supervises, and performance-manages designated staff and is accountable for the area's operational planning.
  • Participates in the management of grievances and labour relations matters.
  • Recruits staff through methods such as interviewing internal and external applicants.
  • Participates in the development of the designated facilities operating budget.
  • Maintains the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Monitors the daily work activity of personnel within the assigned area.
  • Coordinates major and minor projects.
  • Prepares reports for the Manager or Director.
  • Prepares detailed and single-line mechanical, architectural, and structural sketches/drawings.
  • Participates in a wide variety of committee meetings.
  • Acts as the point of contact and responds as required to escalated issues from staff and leaders.
  • Maintains knowledge of current trends and technological advancements in the field.
  • Maintains a healthy and safe work environment.
