Position: Facilities Specialist

At WCG International Consultants Ltd., we understand the transformative power of employment. As a Facilities Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing and supporting a range of service delivery facilities that are integral to our corporate and program operations across British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate Risk Assessment initiatives in collaboration with leadership.
- Identify and address significant safety and security risks with effective solutions.
- Serve as the primary contact for Landlords and WCG personnel regarding all facility-related matters.
- Oversee routine and emergency maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
- Maintain accurate records and schedules for WCG's Facility Leases.
- Proactively manage lease renewal discussions with internal stakeholders.
- Assess the physical and budgetary needs of WCG Facilities and programs, ensuring adequate support for staff through vendor and service management.
- Collaborate with the People & Culture department and Joint OH&S Committee to uphold accessibility standards and safety regulations within WCG Facilities.
- Assist management and real estate professionals in identifying suitable locations for operational needs.
- Lead project management efforts for new construction or renovation projects, including budget creation, design brief development, and procurement processes.
- Review and recommend improvements based on area-specific Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
- Ensure adherence to various regulatory compliance standards.
- Engage in identifying inefficiencies within systems and propose enhancements.
- Stay informed about advancements in technology, processes, and policies to enhance operational capabilities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Essential:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in facilities management.
- Proven project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, fostering teamwork.
- Confident in verbal and written communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Ethically driven with a strong attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
Preferred:
- Experience collaborating with OH&S Committees.
- Familiarity with managing facilities across multiple Canadian locations.
- Knowledge of relevant trades such as carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
