About the Role

Habitat for Humanity Manitoba is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our fundraising efforts. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial sustainability and growth of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that aligns with our organization's values, goals, and objectives.
  2. Identify and engage with potential major donors and corporate partners, tailoring engagement strategies to their interests and philanthropic goals.
  3. Lead, mentor, and inspire fundraising and event management professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  4. Provide comprehensive evaluation reports to donors and stakeholders, detailing the impact of their contributions and funding.
  5. Research, write, and submit grant proposals to foundations, government agencies, and other grant-making organizations to secure funding for various programs and initiatives.
Key Performance Indicators
  1. Develop a clear vision and plan for generating funds to meet build plans, in consultation with senior leadership.
  2. Meet with senior leadership on a regular basis to review progress against annual goals and donor stewardship/engagement strategy development.
  3. Work closely with the Director of Stewardship & Donor Engagement to establish consistent procedures for donor engagement, communication, and acknowledgment.
  4. Manage and cultivate a portfolio of major donors and corporate sponsors.
  5. Introduce new strategies to expand and lead to a culture of engagement and participation for donors and sponsors at all levels.
  6. Keep on top of emerging trends and best practices in donor behavior and philanthropy to design innovative and sophisticated donor relations strategies and programs.
  7. Develop and maintain a strong partnership with colleagues.
  8. Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Habitat for Humanity Manitoba's activities in Winnipeg and across our Chapter network.
  9. Analyze data, develop and prepare annual fundraising budget documents, and manage the operating budget for the fundraising drivers.
  10. Foster a work environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion through collaboration and employee engagement.
  11. Plan, prioritize, and manage the work of staff, providing strategic and tactical advice, guidance, and coaching.
  12. Assess staff training and development needs and ensure that employees receive training required to improve and sustain successful performance.
