About the Role

Community Food Centres Canada (CFCC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Philanthropy to join our team. As a key member of our Development and Communications department, you will play a critical role in leading our individual and foundation fundraising efforts to support our mission to build a more equitable food system in Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction for the individual and foundation fundraising program, including annual and capital program objectives.
  • Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of high-capacity individual and foundation donors, with a focus on securing gifts of $250,000 or more.
  • Cultivation and Stewardship: Develop and implement effective cultivation and stewardship strategies to build strong relationships with donors and secure major gifts.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of fundraising professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success in meeting annual revenue goals.
  • Database Management: Oversee the management of the donor database, ensuring it is up-to-date, complete, and accurate.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of relevant fundraising experience, with a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of leading and growing an individual and foundation major gifts program with direct revenue accountability.
  • Relationship Building: Strong relationship building and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to secure commitments of $250,000 or more.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Financial Literacy: Demonstrated financial literacy, including budgeting and reporting.
  • Database Management: Understanding of database management and prospect management systems, with experience with Salesforce an asset.
