Job Summary

The Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director, Philanthropy to join our team. As a key member of our advancement team, you will play a critical role in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting annual and major gifts to support the organization's mission.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prospect Identification and Cultivation
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gift and annual giving prospects
  • Meet with current and prospective donors to discuss giving interests and opportunities
Donor Stewardship and Recognition
  • Develop and implement donor management and stewardship plans to recognize and appreciate donors
  • Write sensitive and complex donor-specific reports and communications
Donor Relations and Engagement
  • Build and strengthen relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
  • Develop and implement marketing/communications strategies to support fundraising campaigns and programs
Records and Data Management
  • Produce complex donor reports and track fundraising progress against campaign goals
  • Analyze giving and donor trends/patterns and make strategic recommendations to senior advancement leaders
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  1. Minimum seven years of related and recent experience in fundraising
  2. Experience working with donor database management systems
  3. Experience in conducting development-related research and creating donor correspondence
  4. Demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  5. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  6. Strong organizational and analytical skills
  7. Evidence of leadership, initiative, and creativity
  8. Ability to exercise sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality
  9. Ability to set priorities and targets and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  10. Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
  11. Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment
