Associate Dean, Indigenous Education and Engagement

The Associate Dean, Indigenous Education and Engagement is a key leadership position at Humber College, responsible for advancing the institution's commitment to Indigenous education and engagement. This role requires a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, histories, and perspectives, as well as excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement an Indigenous Education and Engagement Strategic Plan that aligns with the college's mission and vision.
- Culture and Climate: Foster a culture that supports innovation and enhances the scope and quality of Indigenous education programs and curricula.
- Integration and Inclusion: Support the seamless integration of Indigenous histories, perspectives, and knowledge into the institution's core teaching and research.
- Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities and institutions to promote Indigenous education and engagement.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Provide leadership and guidance to faculty, staff, and students to advance Indigenous education and engagement.
- Resource Development: Develop and manage Indigenous Education portfolio budgets and identify innovative revenue opportunities and solutions to resource challenges.
- Knowledge Sharing: Oversee the development and expansion of Indigenous Knowledge Gathering and other academic initiatives to increase access to resources and information.
- Education: An Indigenous Scholar with lived experience and expertise in Indigenous knowledge, epistemologies, methodologies, histories, traditions, and/or languages.
- Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in a post-secondary educational environment in support of Indigenous education, student success, and/or community engagement.
- Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, as well as experience building collaborative relationships between Indigenous communities and institutions.
