Job Overview

As a Supervisor of Agricultural Product Inspections at Great Northern Hydroponics, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our agricultural products. This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 37.5 hours per week in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect samples from various plants and products for thorough analysis.
  • Enforce relevant government regulations and standards to maintain compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols within the workplace.
  • Communicate necessary standards and practices to agricultural staff.
  • Conduct inspections of agricultural products to identify any harmful diseases, chemical residues, or infestations.
  • Maintain detailed inspection records and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Route samples to laboratories for microbiological assessments and ingredient verification.
  • Examine storage and transportation equipment to ensure sanitary procedures are upheld.
  • Investigate consumer and trade complaints regarding product quality.
  • Take immediate action to address any safety concerns that may arise.
  • Assess product quality and readiness for market distribution.
Qualifications

Education: A secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience is required.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years in product inspection, particularly in fresh produce, fruits, vegetables, and plant products.

Skills and Knowledge
  • Proficient in presentation and word processing software, as well as spreadsheet applications.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Organizational skills and a team-oriented mindset are essential.
Working Conditions
