As a Supervisor of Agricultural Product Inspections at Great Northern Hydroponics, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our agricultural products. This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 37.5 hours per week.
Qualifications- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a related field or equivalent experience
We are looking for candidates who are willing to relocate and have their own transportation. The role may require travel.
Key Responsibilities- Collect samples from various agricultural products
- Enforce relevant government regulations and standards
- Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols
- Communicate necessary standards to agricultural personnel
- Conduct thorough inspections of agricultural products
- Identify harmful diseases, chemical residues, or infestations in products
- Maintain accurate inspection records and prepare detailed reports
- Route samples to laboratories for testing and verification
- Examine storage and transportation methods to ensure sanitary practices
- Investigate and address consumer and trade complaints
- Take immediate action to safeguard product safety when necessary
Proficiency in the following software is required:
- Presentation software
- Word processing software
- Spreadsheet applications
- Internet navigation
Experience in inspecting:
- Fresh produce
- Fruits and vegetables
- Plants and plant products
