Key Responsibilities- Collect and inspect samples from plants or products to ensure compliance with government regulations and industry standards.
- Enforce government acts and regulations related to agricultural products, ensuring that all products meet the required standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of agricultural products to detect any harmful diseases, chemical residues, or infestations.
- Explain required standards to agricultural workers and ensure that they understand the importance of adhering to these standards.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and complete reports on all inspections conducted.
- Prepare and submit reports on any issues or concerns identified during inspections.
- Route agricultural samples to laboratories for microbiological assessment, ingredient verification, or other testing as required.
- Examine storage, handling, and transportation equipment to ensure that sanitary procedures are followed.
- Inspect the cleanliness and practices of establishment employees to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Investigate consumer and trade complaints related to agricultural products.
- Take emergency actions, such as closing production facilities, if product safety is compromised.
- 5 years or more of experience in agricultural products inspection and quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of government regulations and industry standards related to agricultural products.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
