Supervisor of Agricultural Product Inspections

The role of the Agricultural Products Inspection Supervisor at Great Northern Hydroponics is a permanent position that requires a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of product quality and safety.
Work Environment- Work Language: English
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a related field or equivalent experience
- Relocation: Willingness to relocate is necessary
- Collect samples from various plants and products for analysis.
- Enforce compliance with relevant government regulations and standards.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols.
- Communicate necessary standards to agricultural personnel.
- Conduct thorough inspections of agricultural products.
- Identify harmful diseases, chemical residues, or infestations in products.
- Interpret and clarify government regulations to stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed inspection records and generate comprehensive reports.
- Prepare and route agricultural samples for laboratory testing.
- Assess storage, handling, and transportation methods to ensure sanitary practices.
- Evaluate the cleanliness and operational practices of staff.
- Investigate consumer and trade complaints regarding product quality.
- Take immediate action to address safety concerns, including halting production if necessary.
- Examine products for quality assurance and market readiness.
- Proficient in presentation software, word processing, spreadsheets, and internet applications.
- Knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) principles.
- Experience with the import and export of agricultural products.
- Expertise in agriculture, particularly in fresh produce, fruits, vegetables, and plant products.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and own transportation.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail is crucial, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking involved.
