Customer Service Representative

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Customer Service Representative to join our team at Watson Building Supplies, a GMS Company. As a key member of our customer-facing team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all customers and employees.
Key Responsibilities- Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers, promoting a positive and professional image.
- Maintain a strong emphasis on safety, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure a high level of effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
- Assist with business development through phone sales, contacting key or dormant accounts to promote products and services.
- Support outside sales with job quoting and sales administration.
- Perform ad hoc reporting and tracking of sales activity.
- Provide customer service and communication, including in-store sales and other store administration tasks.
- Manage inventory and maintenance, including invoices, accuracy, and cycling.
- Open document management of POs, SOs, Transfers, and Credits.
- Communicate issues and successes to appropriate superiors in a timely manner.
- Follow all regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Health and safety conscious.
- Ability to take direction and promote a team atmosphere at all times.
- University degree or diploma in business or equivalent experience and on-the-job training.
- Previous experience in the building materials supply industry is preferred.
- High degree of reading, writing, numeracy, and oral communication skills (speak, read, and write in English).
- Pleasant phone manner.
- Ability to problem solve, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments.
- Strong computer skills and ability to use Excel (pivot tables and reports), Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and comfortable with tight deadlines and customer demands.
- Ability to cope with last-minute changes.
- A positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Sitting for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Climbing up and down stairs (houses and trucks).
- Bending and standing with weight.
