As an Aquatics Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Recruiting, hiring, training, and managing staff and volunteers in aquatic programs.
  • Ensuring staff and volunteers deliver exceptional service and maintain strong member relationships.
  • Coordinating and supervising pool operations and program delivery to meet quality standards.
  • Providing direct program services, including swimming lessons and lifeguarding.
  • Monitoring program quality and responding to trends while upholding safety standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with health regulations and safety protocols.
  • Managing program budgets and performing administrative tasks.
  • Assuming facility operation responsibilities during assigned Duty Manager shifts.
  • Supporting departmental and organizational goals.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Leadership Experience: A minimum of 2 years in an aquatic leadership role.
  • Education: A university degree in Recreation, Physical Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certifications: Standard First Aid & CPR, National Lifeguard, YMCA Swim Instructor, Lifesaving Instructor, and relevant leadership certifications.
  • Background Check: Ability to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector check.
