As the Aquatics Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Recruiting, hiring, training, and managing staff and volunteers in program areas.
  • Ensuring staff and volunteers deliver high-quality services while maintaining excellent relationships with members.
  • Coordinating and overseeing program and pool operations to meet quality standards and targets.
  • Providing direct program delivery, including swimming lessons and lifeguarding services.
  • Monitoring program quality and addressing trends while upholding the highest safety standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with health regulations and safety protocols.
  • Managing program budgets and fulfilling administrative duties.
  • Assuming facility operation responsibilities during assigned Duty Manager shifts.
  • Supporting departmental, branch, and association objectives.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Leadership Experience: A minimum of 2 years in an aquatic leadership role.
  • Education: A university degree in Recreation, Physical Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certifications: Standard First Aid & CPR, National Lifeguard, YMCA Swim Instructor, and/or Lifesaving Instructor, along with relevant leadership certifications.
  • Background Check: Ability to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector check.
