Position Overview: Employee Assistance Program Counselor
Location: Toronto
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Working Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Friday 1pm-11:30pm, Saturday 11am-9:30pm EST/EDT
Compensation: $60,000 annually
Required Experience: 1 year of direct counseling experience

Your Role:
As an EAP Counselor, you will engage with clients through various communication channels, including phone, video, chat, and email, embodying 'The Power of a Good Conversation' to ensure clients feel valued and understood.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide telephonic and video counseling, crisis intervention, and immediate support while upholding client confidentiality.
  • Conduct comprehensive client evaluations to determine suitability for short-term counseling.
  • Effectively manage high-risk scenarios and offer appropriate referrals as necessary.
  • Collaborate on clear treatment strategies and maintain meticulous documentation.

Qualifications and Skills:
To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology.
  • Preferred licensure or clinical certification.
  • A minimum of 2 years of counseling experience with direct client engagement.
  • Expertise in assessments and various counseling techniques.
  • Training in crisis management and support for high-risk clients.
  • Capability to address issues related to substance abuse, crisis situations, mental health challenges, and relationship dynamics.
