About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Lawyer Counselor to join our team at Intact Financial Corporation. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a critical role in providing expert advice and guidance on complex commercial law matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on commercial law matters, including contract review and negotiation, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide legal support and guidance on business initiatives and projects.
  • Conduct research and analysis to stay up-to-date on changes in commercial law and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including business leaders and other legal professionals.

Requirements
  • LL.B. or J.D. degree from a recognized law school.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial law, preferably in a corporate or financial institution setting.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial law, including contract law, tort law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
