Job Summary

Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive primary health care services to clients and their families in a community and/or long-term care setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment, Diagnosis, and Treatment
    • Conduct thorough health assessments to identify health concerns and develop treatment plans.
    • Order diagnostic tests and interpret results to inform treatment decisions.
    • Prescribe medications and perform minor invasive procedures as needed.
    • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Consultation and Collaborative Practice
    • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide coordinated and comprehensive care.
    • Act as a clinical expert and resource to establish and maintain client care delivery.
    • Consult with specialists as needed to ensure optimal client care.
  • Prescribing Drugs
    • Apply principles of pharmacology to select and prescribe medications.
    • Monitor client response to medication and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Screening and Diagnostic Tests
    • Order and interpret screening and diagnostic tests to inform treatment decisions.
  • Injury/Illness Prevention
    • Develop and implement health promotion and illness prevention strategies.
    • Provide education and counseling to clients and their families.
  • Professional Responsibilities/Accountability
    • Document client care in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives.
    • Provide clinical supervision and education to graduate nursing students and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Master's degree in Nursing or a related field.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Extended Practice) in the province of Manitoba.
  • Experience working in a community and/or long-term care setting.
  • Strong assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
