Job Summary

Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert respiratory care to patients in a variety of settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consultation and Education
    • Provide consultation and education to medical and nursing staff on respiratory clinical applications.
    • Develop and implement educational programs for patients and families on respiratory care and management.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Perform functional checks on respiratory and related equipment to ensure quality performance.
    • Repair and troubleshoot respiratory and related equipment as required.
    • Calibrate and maintain blood gas analyzers, pulmonary function analyzers, and other equipment.
  • Clinical and Therapeutic Services
    • Assess and manage patients with respiratory conditions, including those requiring mechanical ventilation.
    • Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans.
    • Provide emergency care and stabilization of patients with respiratory distress.
  • Diagnostic and Monitoring Services
    • Conduct diagnostic procedures, including arterial blood gas sampling and pulmonary function testing.
    • Monitor patients' respiratory status and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement respiratory care plans.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to respiratory therapy students and new staff members.
Requirements
  • Current registration as a Respiratory Therapist with the relevant professional organization.
  • Advanced degree in respiratory therapy or a related field (e.g. Master's or Doctoral degree).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy, preferably in a critical care setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
