Job Summary

Shared Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ultrasound Clinical Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will be responsible for teaching, monitoring, and evaluating the clinical skills of Ultrasound students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Diagnostic Services and the Educational Coordinator to develop and implement effective clinical training programs.
  • Assist in the scheduling of students' clinical rotations and ensure they obtain practical scanning experience.
  • Provide timely oral and written student progress reports.
  • Function as a general duty sonographer when not scheduled with students to maintain scanning skills and learn new techniques.
Requirements
  • 5 years' professional experience in a Health Care setting, with a focus on General Ultrasound and Echocardiography.
  • Experience in teaching and/or a certificate in education is preferred.
  • Experience working with Radiology Information Systems and Picture Archiving systems is essential.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Radiography, Nursing, Nuclear Medicine, or a related technical field.
  • Diagnostic Ultrasound Training Certificate.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or (RDSC) certification.
  • Active membership with the Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, and Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Province of Manitoba Class 5 Driver's License, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic Current Life Support Instructor course.
  • Evidence of continuing education/professional development.
  • Competency with Windows-based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Demonstrated leadership and written/oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize in a changing environment and display independent judgment.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population and maintain confidentiality.
