About the Role

PCL Construction is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Project Manager to join our team in Toronto. As a key member of our infrastructure development team, you will be responsible for leading the pursuit of new work and overseeing the development and implementation of project safety programs, quality management plans, and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Safety and Quality: Develop and implement project safety programs, creating a safety culture as a mentor and model. Oversee the development and implementation of quality management plans and quality cultures with stakeholder buy-in.
  2. Pursuit of New Work: Participate in estimates, work with trade contractors, and participate in proposals and presentations to lead the pursuit of new work.
  3. Client Relationships: Manage project team, client representative, consultant, and trade contractor relationships to ensure effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
  4. Project Performance: Monitor project performance status reports for safety, cost forecast, and schedule. Identify and manage risk and opportunities on construction projects.
  5. Design and Construction: Monitor progress of the design, including compliance issues, quality, general coordination, constructability, and timing of deliverables. Assist the project team lead in obtaining a comprehensive design-management and design-quality plan.
  6. Communication and Stakeholder Management: Keep all parties informed of potential opportunities and challenges, and manage stakeholders' expectations through appropriate forms of communication.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: Postsecondary education or training in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline. 15+ years of progressive construction experience with multiple contract delivery types as a leader and mentor preferred.
  2. Skills and Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of construction industry including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, construction law and building codes, and safety and quality management practices. Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills, including the ability to manage project budgets and schedules.
  3. Leadership and Communication: Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  4. Technology and Tools: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, project management and scheduling software, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
